A unique 6-week course to ignite your creative spark, focus on your writing project and establish the habits to get your writing flowing. Based on the book Write For Life, the writing version of Julia Cameron’s inspiring The Artist’s Way.
Whether you are first-time writer with an idea, or a writer looking to reconnect with your inspiration, this course is an invitation to invest time in yourself to move your writing forward.
The course gives you a clear framework to begin, stick with, reinvent or finish a project. It's not about writing technique – it's much more about finding your true writing self and voice – with a touch of magic and synchronicity!
In a supportive group environment, with a skilled facilitator and peers going through the same process, you will receive the encouragement you need to coax your creativity and achieve your personal aims.
Based on Write For Life, we follow 5 key practices to kickstart your creativity:
- Morning pages
- Weekly Artist date
- Regular writing – without fear or judgement
- Couple of short walks a week
- Explore writing stations
These proven techniques help to dismantle the perfectionism, fear and procrastination which often have a hand in the writing process. Please note you will need a copy of Write for Life by Julia Cameron to participate.
The course builds week by week - at the end of the 6 weeks you will be able to see how you have grown as a clearer, more confident writer. You will be writing regularly. You may even experience some magical surprises along the way!
Course facilitator: Anna Hayward found the beginnings of her writing voice through doing The Artist’s Way at Evolution in 2010 and can trace a direct line from inspiration through morning pages to becoming an award-winning novelist (Broken Madonna under the pen name Anna Lucia). She has long experience facilitating groups in the workplace and is a trained counsellor and mentor. She supports writers through mentoring, editing, courses and retreats. She is Chair of Trustees of New Writing South. www.annalucia.co.uk
